Colour and light variations of PLEIONE between the Be and shell phases.
Pleione (28 Tau, HD 23862) has been measured in the Geneva photometricsystem since 1962, particularly throughout the latest shell episode(1973-1982). Here, we present and discuss the data of the 152measurements obtained until 1993 in the special context of theproperties of the Geneva system. The photometry allows us to evaluate areliable colour excess and quantifies the very different behaviours ofthe Balmer and Paschen continua during the shell phase. Apart from itslong term variability, both the magnitudes and colours of Pleione showsignificant variability on a night-to-night timescale during that phase.
