ISM Polarization toward NGC 1502 Visual polarimetry of field stars along the line of sight to the clusterNGC 1502 and several stars in the cluster itself have been obtained.Polarization varies from much less than 1% at a distance of 100-200 pcto over 6% for the cluster stars; the field direction is uniform towithin about 10 arcdeg from the nearest to the most distant stars.lambda_max for the most distant field stars is about 5000 Ang, and forthe cluster stars is about 4800 Ang, implying that R significantly lessthan 3 for this region.
